PADI Night Diver Specialty

Discover diving again at night in Amed & Tulamben, Bali.

Night diver speciality DETAILS

If you were already excited by diving, then try diving at night! And what a better way of doing so than signing up for the PADI Night Diver Specialty course to get a full taste of it. Night diving changes everything underwater… At night the marine world appears to be more beautiful, colorful and mysterious.

Your familiar dive site looks completely different. The fish and marine life you are used to admire during the day are gone! Fish that usually swim are sleeping, those usually hidden are out and fully active. At night, you will see strange creatures you have never seen before. As we dive more slowly, you will get to see a lot of details you don’t pay attention to during the day. Night is the time when the crustacean’s kingdom takes over, lobsters, crabs, shrimps are completely invading the reefs and sea bottom. A lot of the reef predators are out hunting also such as lionfish, morays, groupers, rays or even sharks so expect some action there! We will also bring you on, what we call at Bali Diversity, a Plankton’s party!

Planning should be done carefully for night diving. During the Night Diver Specialty course you will learn there are a number of factors to be considered before you go underwater in the dark.

During your course, you will cover how to choose your dive site, how to evaluate favourable conditions, how to prepare specialised equipment and go through all the communication and safety procedures at night.

During night dive, you carry extra equipment, you dive differently, and you don’t see your surroundings like you used to during the day. This affects your techniques such as buoyancy, buddy control, positioning or even your air consumption…You will therefore work with your Instructor to overcome those challenges underwater.

To become a PADI Night Diver Specialist, you will have to complete 3 night dives under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. We are lucky to have an amazing variety of dive sites suitable for night diving around Amed and Tulamben. How about exploring a 125m long second world war wreck at night with bumphead parrotfish sleeping and giant morays and groupers hunting? Or look for sharks and barracudas hunting at nigh on one of our gentle drift sites. We have also sheltered reefs covered with crustaceans, cuttlefish or octopus. And you could even go on a muck dive, diving on sand, to look for alien critters you have probably never ever seen during the day.

So many options we have to offer for our divers excited by the Night Diver Specialty experience. So don’t miss out of this incredible course and contact us via email or whatsapp.
