You have also the option of renting your own transport for the time of your holidays. Numerous travellers rent motorbikes and go all around Bali that way. It is the cheapest way of travelling but maybe not the safest…Depending on companies you may be able to rent your vehicle from one place and drop it somewhere else, most places will ask you to return the vehicle where you got it. Getting to Amed by road is pretty easy, you can just follow the East coast road towards the North.

Few Tips:

  1. Remember we drive on the left in Indonesia and traffic may be intense!
  2. International driving licence are usually required. Get one for free from your government before you go on holidays and keep your national driving licence as well. It will allow you to avoid the fines from the local police.
  3. Road signs for direction are sometimes seldom but locals will be happy to help you if you get lost or get one of the cheap local SIM card for internet and use GPS!
